Conductor: Christopher Franklin /USA/
Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra
One of the greatest stars of the present day, Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, will perform under the open skies in the Brewery Garden with his opera recital. As a young man, Juan Diego Flórez sang rock and pop and it was only later that he became enthralled by classical music. His opera debut took place at the Rossini Opera Festival, stepping in at the last minute to substitute his ill colleague. His performance was literally a sensation. Shortly after, he was invited to La Scala, where he opened the new opera season at the age of 23 under the leadership of Ricardo Muti. Since then he has performed on all the leading opera stages in the world, in particular in Rossini's, Donizetti's and Bellini's operas. Since 2001 he has been recording exclusively for the company Decca, for which he has recorded a number of recital albums and has participated in the recordings of several operas. He has been recognized as one of the best tenors in history by the BBC. At the concert in Český Krumlov he will be accompanied by the residential ensemble of the IMF Český Krumlov, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Christopher Franklin.
